Cinderella’s Last Three Wishes
Cinderella, now a widow at 95, is rocking away the last of her days on the front porch of her home, reflecting on her life. Before passing on, the prince gave her a wonderful life, but he spent almost all of the treasury on fancy balls. All she really has left are her rocking chair and her pet tomcat, Bob.
All of a sudden, her fairy godmother appears in front of her and informs her that she will be granted three wishes.
“Well, now,” says Cinderella, “I guess I would like to be really rich again.”
*** POOF *** her rocking chair turns to solid gold, and diamonds fall from the sky to cover her lawn.
“And, gee, I guess I wouldn’t mind being a young, beautiful princess again.”
*** POOF *** Cinderella turns into her former beautiful self, complete with a platinum tiara.
“Your third wish?” asks the fairy godmother.
Just then, Bob the cat wanders across the porch in front of them. “Ooh — can you change Bob into a handsome prince?” she asks.
*** POOF *** Bob is transformed into a young man more handsome than Cinderella has ever imagined. She stares at him, smitten.
With a smile that makes Cinderella’s knees weak, Bob saunters across the porch, nuzzles her cheek, and whispers in her ear: “Bet you’re sorry you had me neutered.”
